Day 1: Depart JFK via Egypt air non-stop service to Cairo at 6:30pm.
Day 2: 11:50am: You will be met prior to immigration in the main arrivals hall. Our local staff will help secure your visa US$ 20.00 and conduct you through baggage claim. Drive through the teeming streets of Cairo to your hotel.
Day 3: 9:00am departure from the hotel to the edge of the city and a tour to the Pyramids and Sphinx, Egypt’s most famous monuments. The Pyramid of Cheops, or Great Pyramid, is the only remaining structure of the original Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. 2:00pm departure for a tour of the world famous Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, home of the treasures from the tomb of the boy king, Tutankhamun. End the day with a visit to the hectic alleyways of the Khan el Khalili Bazaar. (B)
Day 4: Transfer to the airport for an early morning flight to Aswan. ( the optional tour to the Abu Simbel Temples may be added at this point). On arrival in Aswan, transfer to the Movenpick HS Radamis I or II Nile Cruise ship, where you will be checked in to your well appointed, spacious cabin with large picture windows offering unobstructed views of the Nile. After lunch tour the Aswan High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk and the exquisite temple dedicated to the Goddess Isis on the island of Philae. (B,L,D)
Day 5: Morning sail to Kom Ombo. Visit to the temple shared by the two Gods, Sobek and Haroeris. Continue downriver to Edfu for a visit to the Temple of Horus, one of the best preserved in Egypt. Overnight at Esna. (B,L,D)
Day 6: Morning sail to Luxor, our final destination and site of some of the greatest surviving antiquities in the world. Our tour begins with a visit to the huge temple complex of Amun Ra at Karnak. As time permits, the day will conclude with a short visit to Luxor Temple. (B,L,D)
Day 7: After breakfast and check-out, cross to the West Bank of the Nile to explore Egypt’s great burial grounds in the Valley of the Kings and Queens. Climb the terraced funerary temple of the female Pharaoh, Hatshepsut, with its commanding view of the Nile Valley. The tour concludes with a stop at the Colossi of Memnon, all that remains of the palace of Amenhotep III. Board an afternoon flight to Cairo for a final overnight. (B)
Day 8: Morning transfer to the airport for a 10:10am departure to JFK arriving at 3:15pm.
